Magnus Carlsen achieves the No. 1 Spot. Officially!

Magnus Carlsen tops the FIDE Top Players January 1, 2010 rating list. Magnus is the youngest to achieve the feat. And he is also the youngest player ever to cross 2800 mark of ELO rating points.

Magnus is followed by Veseline Topalov, Vishy Anand and Kramnik in the respective order. Vugar Gashimov and Wang Yue get into the top ten due to the strong performance they displayed. Vassily Ivanchuk returns to that top ten after falling to 22nd spot! That's typical chucky for you!
